Gardiners Creek Trail now open

Gardiners Creek trail reopened

The Gardiners Creek Trail between Great Valley Road, Glen Iris, and Tooronga Road, Gardiner, is now open.

This section was closed to the public for 12 months due to Monash Freeway widening works, the City of Boroondara development of the Glen Iris Wetland, and the re-alignment of the shared path through this section.

This upgraded section of the trail  reopened on Friday, 31 July 2009 and the temporary detour route via Tooronga Road/Carroll Crescent/Wills Street/Great Valley Road removed.

The Monash Alliance is resurfacing and line-marking the trail between Great Valley Road and Burke Road.

Further enhancements will be made to other sections of the Gardiners Creek bike path in consultation with Bicycle Victoria and the local municipalities.
